Actually, I'm happy to wait and hope the weather gets a wee bit better. Starting out in the North and driving farther north is always a little sketchy in March. We've got a lot of snow on the ground at the moment, so I'll hope for a warm spell next month.
And we need more time to rehearse, anyway!:)

Brock and I are off Friday to Montreal. The plan is: playing music with La Chanteraine in the Gala show Saturday, more music making at the after-party, *and* I'm also dancing with Karma at the Friday night hafla show.
The workshops look great, the shows & parties are sure to be fantastic, and Montreal is like a little bit of Europe magically existing here in North America. Hope to see lots of friends there this weekend!

Brock and I were so honored to play with the really amazing musicians of La Chanteraine (omg!! they're great!!), and for the beautiful & inspiring Trib'elles. We could practically feel Dominique's huge, beautiful smile each time she turned toward us during their dance. There's nothing better than playing with people who really love music, and for people who are really listening and being moved by it. You guys rocked! Thanks for including us- we really enjoyed being even a small part of your lovely event.
It seems no post about Tribally Yours 08 is complete without an acknowledgment of the amazing snowstorm that covered us all weekend, but for me it was just part of a really great whirlwind experience of performances, workshops, and good times with friends. And between the Unmata workshop and the snow shoveling, i feel i've gained some muscle!:)

Wed, March 12, 2008 - 1:08 PMThanks for the compliments, you guys are awesome! :-) I'm just very sorry we didn't got a chance for a real reharsal before the show. but you and Brock manage it like pro and the result was fabulous! La Chanteraine is definetely planning on making the trip to Pennsic to play with you guys...but not this year ;-) Since Catherine, our early wind instrument player is pregnant and can't come this year, we're gona wait to 2009. Of course we hope too see you and jam with you guys sooner than that. In Kitchener maybe? :-)
